COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST (CLAT) ENTRANCE EXAM

This CLAT is conducted for admission of candidates both in Undergraduate and post graduate law courses throughout India.11 Indian universities acknowledge this exam.

AVAIL OF THE APPLICATION:

• The applications will be available in selected branches of SBI bank or University with a payment of fees Rs.2500/- general category and Rs.2000/- for SC/ST candidates.

• The applications can be downloaded from www.clat.ac.in  and fees can be paid through Demand draft in Favor of “Convener, CLAT, and Bhopal”.

• The applications will be available in the month of January.

• The duly filled applications should be submitted within the month of April and Admissions card will be issued in 2^nd week of April.

• The exam will commence on First week of May and results will be announced in the last week of May.

FOR UNDERGRADUATES:

The candidates must have completed 12^th with minimum 50% of marks for general category and 45% of marks for SC/ST candidates.

The candidates should be age not more than22 years.

The candidates who are appearing in the final examination are also eligible.

PATTERN:

The duration of exam in 200 minutes and total number of questions is 200 and each question carry 1 mark.

The split up of subjects are as follows:

1. English & comprehension – 40 marks
2. General Knowledge or Current affairs – 50 marks
3. Elementary maths – 20 m arks
4. Legal General Knowledge – 45 marks
5. Logical reasoning – 45 marks

FOR POST GRADUATES:

The applicant should be a law graduate with minimum 55% marks for general category and 50% of marks for SC/ST candidates.

PATTERN:

The duration of exam in 200 minutes and total number of questions is 200.

The split up of subjects are as follows:

1. Objective type questions – 50 question of each 1 mark
2. Short answers – 10 questions each carry 5 marks.
3. Essay writing – 2 questions carrying 50 marks each.

2. Criminal Law
3. Constitutional Law.
