INDIAFOREST SERVICE (IFS)

• This exam is conducted by UPSC commencing from the year 2011.

• The candidates must be an Indian / subject of Nepal / Bhutan.
• The candidates must be a graduate from animal Husbandry & veterinary science, agriculture, forestry, botany, etc.
• The candidate’s age must be more than 21 years & less than 30 years of age.
• The candidate must be physically fit.
• The application can be downloaded from www.upsconline.nic.in

• The applications are available in various head post offices located throughout India.

• The applications can also be availed by sending a request to “ controller of examinations, UPSC”.

• The applications will be available in the month of April.

• The candidates can take up this exam maximum 4 times.

• The duration for each paper is 180 minutes.

• The pattern of the examination is as follows:

Section 1:

• The other section is Personality test for 300 marks.

• The optional subjects available are many. Some of them are

Agricultural,

Agricultural engineering,

Animal Husbandry & veterinary science,

Chemistry,

English,

Mathematics,

Zoology,

Physics,

• The candidate’s cal also selects combination of optional subjects as the norms of UPSC.
